Started in 2008, SFEA is a social/political advocacy, communication, and capacity building nongovernment organization and maintains an efficient network of its nongovernmental/civil society partners across Pakistan. Our political character focuses on countering extremism, promoting constitutional democracy for Pakistan and advocating greater civil rights/liberties for citizens, particularly the disadvantaged groups. It was formally registered in July 2012. Shaoor Foundation focuses on:

  • Social and political peacebuilding and countering violent extremism; and
  • Promotion of democracy and governance in Pakistan.

The organization is linked at almost every Divisional Headquarter of Pakistan, including Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. In collaboration with its network of partners, SFEA is capable of directly working with the local communities, leaders, and civil society and nongovernment organizations. SFEA could also engage the grassroots stakeholders in Pakistan’s remote and challenging areas such as: FATA, and Balochistan.

SFEA is registered under Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Registration and Control Ordinance, 1961. It is governed by a Board of Governors and operates via its Executive Director. Shaoor has actively engaged in processes of constructive social change, and has worked with various national/international donors, and development organizations.

An external auditor annually audits Shaoor Foundation’s accounts. The organization has policies in all possible realms of its operations e.g. financial, procurement, human resource, document retention etc., and these are professionally followed.

Gender, minorities, youth, and media are the crosscutting themes of all our projects. We are positively prejudiced in favor of women and have an organizational policy of preferring quality female professional in our team for every project.
