Grand Dialogue for “𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧

To ensure the meaningful engagement of youth in the democratic practices, Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness (SFEA), in partnership with the Young Parliamentarian Forum (YPF) of the National Assembly of Pakistan and the Youth Development Center – Government College University (GCU), organized a grand dialogue for “𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧” at Government College University, Lahore on September 14, 2023.

The primary objective of this event was to emphasize the importance of students and youth involvement in the democratic process. It aimed to actively involve them in discussions with subject experts, providing valuable insights into their roles as future leaders. The dialogue attracted 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟓𝟎 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 from various departments and student societies.

The panelists for the dialogue included 𝐌𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐛𝐢𝐝, 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭; 𝐑𝐚𝐣𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐚𝐢𝐛 𝐀𝐤𝐛𝐞𝐫, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐅𝐄𝐀; 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐨𝐦𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐚𝐝, 𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫; 𝐌𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐣𝐢𝐝 𝐀𝐥𝐢, 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐛; and three students from GCU. The Session was moderated by Mr. Mubashir Hussain Awan, the Director of the Youth Development Center GCU.

The discussion turned out to be highly productive with the panelists showcasing their unique perspectives and the participants actively posing a range of questions to clarify their thoughts on the topic. The event concluded with a commitment to advocate for active and meaningful youth participation in the political process.
