Women’s Empowerment through Sports, WE-Sports, was an innovative project encompassed training and advocacy initiative implemented in Karachi and Islamabad. By imparting training in non-traditional sports like kickboxing and soccer, the project was designed to instill self-assurance among young girls, fostering the realization that girls can actively engage in a wide spectrum of athletic activities. The overarching goal was to break the stereotype that girls either lack the capability or suitability for participating in sports perceived as ‘daring’ or ‘bold’.

The training sessions facilitated beneficiaries in comprehending the significance of teamwork, thereby empowering them to establish safer public spaces for women in Karachi. The project aspired to not only enable young girls to partake in sports but also to amplify their sense of agency and foster an environment that promotes inclusivity and equality.
