Karachi Interfaith Network

In the diverse city of Karachi, fostering harmony and understanding among its communities was a pressing need. In response, SFEA conducted a 5.5-month project to establish the "Karachi Interfaith Network."

This initiative brought together leaders from various backgrounds who had been engaged under the CRA - South program in Karachi. The objective was to create a network that authentically represented Karachi's diversity, encompassing community and faith-based leaders, legal experts, journalists, social activists, academicians, women advocates, and government representatives. They received training in areas like advocacy for peace narratives, campaigns, social entrepreneurship, team-building, and networking. The Karachi Interfaith Network played a crucial role in organizing activities such as peace dialogues, cascading sessions, exchange visits, and social media campaigns, all aimed at increasing tolerance and acceptance within the city's diverse communities.

This initiative also emphasized the active involvement of community leaders in collective peacebuilding efforts. USAID/CRO provided financial support to train 30 key leaders, promoting tolerance, peace, diversity, and co-existence in the target areas of the CRA - South program. The assistance was not just about training leaders; it was an investment in fostering tolerance and pluralism, enhancing unity within and across diverse communities.

The Karachi Interfaith Network was a powerful testament to the potential of unity and understanding in building a brighter future for all residents of Karachi.
